Jonathan Bywater

Jonathan Bywater is a senior at Temple University, where he studies Music Performance under Ernie Tovar. Jonathan began playing the horn at age 9, and later played with various ensembles including the Youth Orchestra of Bucks County, the Delaware Valley Wind Symphony, and Philadelphia Sinfonia. In 2019 and 2020, he participated in the numerous bands and orchestras of the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association, as well as the NAfME All- National Symphony Orchestra in 2019.

 

Jonathan routinely plays as principal horn with the Temple University Symphony Orchestra, including three annual Kimmel Center concerts. He has also regularly played with the Curtis Institute of Music and the Bay Atlantic Symphony, and attended Texas Music Festival in June 2024. His outstanding teachers have included Colleen Sweetsir, Jonathan Clark, Jeff Lang, and Ernie Tovar. Upon graduation from Temple, Jonathan plans to earn his masters degree and pursue a career in horn performance.
